The bill expands
the availability of deferred disposition to include Class B drug offenses. To
the extent that individuals consent to deferred disposition and sentences are
subsequently reduced, correctional costs will decrease. The amount of savings
cannot be determined at this time. The current average cost of incarcerating
an individual for one day in a correctional facility is $151.24, totaling
$55,203 per year. |
