The bill allows
the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management, Maine Emergency
Management Agency, to requisition food supplies for emergency use and special
duty assignments. It is difficult to
determine the number of emergencies, number of personnel needed for each
emergency or the duration or severity of any emergency at this time. During a non-federally declared emergency
the cost would be shared 50% with state funding and 50% federal grant
funds. During federally declared
disasters the cost would be reimbursable up to at least 75% with federal
funds with any remainder covered by state funding. |
