An Act To Exclude Tractor Pulling from Certain Rules Governing Motor Vehicle Racing
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 8 MRSA §562, as amended by PL 1997, c. 728, §4, is further amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read:
The Commissioner of Public Safety may not adopt or enforce a rule under this section requiring for tractor pulling events the erection, construction or maintenance of fences or safety barriers. For purposes of this section, "tractor pulling event" means a competitive or demonstration event in which tractors are used to pull loaded sleds along a track.
SUMMARY
This bill excludes tractor pulling events from motor vehicle racing rules requiring the erection, construction or maintenance of fences or safety barriers.
