An Act To Prohibit the Discharge of a Firearm within 300 Feet of a State-owned Boat Launching Ramp
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 17-A MRSA §1059 is enacted to read:
§ 1059. Discharging a firearm near a state-owned boat launching ramp
1. A person is guilty of discharging a firearm near a state-owned boat launching ramp if the person discharges a firearm within 300 feet of a state-owned boat launching ramp.
2. This section does not apply to a law enforcement officer in the performance of the law enforcement officer's duties.
3. Discharging a firearm near a state-owned boat launching ramp is a Class E crime.

This bill makes discharging a firearm within 300 feet of a state-owned boat launching ramp a Class E crime.
