Amend the Senate Order in the Ordered paragraph in the last line by striking out the following: "them." and inserting the following: 'them; and be it further'
Amend the Senate Order by adding at the end the following:
‘
ORDERED, that any action by the President of the Senate authorized by this order must be approved by at least 2/3 of the elected members of the Senate, prior to the President taking such action; and be it further
ORDERED, that the authorization granted to the President of the Senate by this order expires 45 days after passage by the Senate.’
SUMMARY
This amendment requires that any action authorized by the order have the prior approval of at least 2/3 of the elected members of the Senate. This amendment also specifies that the authorization granted by the order expires 45 days after passage of the order by the Senate.
