Amend the amendment by striking out all of sections 1 and 2 and inserting the following:

Sec. 1. Outreach regarding MaineCare reimbursement. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services shall conduct outreach to ensure providers, including, but not limited to, social workers, counselors and case managers working with people experiencing homelessness or substance use disorder, as well as substance use treatment providers, family practice physicians, internists, obstetricians, gynecologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and midwives, are aware of the availability of reimbursement under MaineCare rules for contraceptive counseling and placement of a method of long-acting, reversible contraception.’

SUMMARY

This amendment removes the outreach and educational program requirements in Committee Amendment "B" and instead requires the Department of Health and Human Services to conduct outreach to ensure providers are aware of the availability of reimbursement under MaineCare rules for contraceptive counseling and placement of a method of long-acting, reversible contraception.
