An Act To Require at Least a 30-minute Lunch Period for Students
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §4013 is enacted to read:
§ 4013. Lunch period
A school administrative unit shall provide for all students under the jurisdiction of the school administrative unit a lunch period of at least 30 minutes unless the governing body of the school administrative unit determines by vote after notice and public hearing that a 30-minute lunch period would be impracticable.
SUMMARY
This bill requires that school administrative units provide for students a lunch period of at least 30 minutes unless the governing body of the school administrative unit determines by vote after notice and public hearing that a 30-minute lunch period would be impracticable.
