‘An Act To Promote Efficiency and Accountability to Taxpayers in State Contracting for Goods and Services’

Amend the bill by striking out everything after the enacting clause and inserting the following:

Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §1816-B  is enacted to read:

§ 1816-B Contract review

A department or agency of the State shall submit to the Attorney General for review and approval any proposed contract for the purchase of goods or services by that department or agency when the department or agency determines the contract may expose the State to substantial risk in the event of nonperformance or the contract could reasonably be expected to incur costs to the State in excess of $3,000,000.
