  and Notes | | | | | |

  | | The bill
authorizes an upward adjustment of salary schedules in fiscal year 2015-16
for certain law enforcement positions in the Department of Public Safety, the
Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, the Department of Marine
Resources, the Department of Secretary of State and the Baxter State Park
Authority effective for the first pay period commencing on or after July 1,
2016. It provides that the funding for both the General Fund and Highway Fund
costs of the bill come from the General Fund Salary Plan program within the
Department of Administrative and Financial Services in fiscal year 2016-17
only. Transfers from the Salary Plan may not exceed more than $6,347,655 in
fiscal year 2016-17. Beginning in fiscal year 2017-18 the higher compensation
costs will be funded directly from the General Fund and Highway Fund.
Increased costs for positions supported from sources other than the General
Fund and the Highway Fund must be funded from those other sources. |

  | | This bill also
authorizes the Governor to adjust the salaries of unclassified law
enforcement positions in the Department of Public Safety, the Department of
Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the Department of Marine Resources whose
salaries are subject to the Governor's adjustment or approval. This cost
cannot be estimated at this time. |
