An Act To Require a Large Employer To Provide a Paper Paystub upon Request from an Employee
Sec. 1. 26 MRSA §637 is enacted to read:
§ 637. Written accounting of wages
Upon a request prior to a pay period from an employee, an employer who employs more than 50 employees must provide an accounting of the employee's wages for that pay period and subsequent pay periods, including gross pay, withholdings and any benefits received, on a paper receipt at the time the wages are paid.
This bill requires an employer with more than 50 employees to provide upon request to an employee a paper receipt of wages for a pay period.
