An Act To Designate a Youth Bear Hunting Day
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §11251, sub-§2 is enacted to read:
2. Youth day. The commissioner shall establish by rule a youth hunting day for hunting bear from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. The day must be the Saturday prior to the opening of the open season for hunting bear under subsection 1. Rules adopted under this subsection are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.
SUMMARY
This bill requires the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to establish by rule a youth bear hunting day on the Saturday prior to the opening of bear hunting season.
