Fiscal Note for Bill as Engrossed with:
C "A" (H-64)
Committee: Transportation

Fiscal Note
Minor revenue decrease - General Fund
Minor cost increase - General Fund
Fiscal Detail and Notes
Authorizing the Commissioner of Transportation to raise the speed limit on the interstate system or other divided controlled-access highway may decrease General Fund revenue generated by fines.  The actual loss of revenue over time will depend on the location or locations where the limit is raised, enforcement policies of the State Police and how drivers choose to adjust to the new speed limit.
Additional costs, if any,  to the Department of Transportation associated with new speed limit signs can be absorbed with existing staff and within existing budgeted resources.
