An Act To Criminalize Importation of So-called Bath Salts Containing Synthetic Hallucinogenic Drugs
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 17-A MRSA §1124 is enacted to read:
§ 1124. Illegal importation of synthetic hallucinogenic drugs
1. A person is guilty of illegal importation of synthetic hallucinogenic drugs if the person intentionally or knowingly conveys or causes to be conveyed a synthetic hallucinogenic drug into the State from another state or country, unless the person is authorized to import or to possess the synthetic hallucinogenic drug under any law of the United States, of another state or of a foreign country.
2. A violation of this section is a Class D crime.
