Item 2
Bill Tracking, Additional Documents Chamber Status

Amend the bill by striking out everything after the enacting clause and before the summary and inserting the following:

Sec. 1. 28-A MRSA §1205, sub-§1,  as amended by PL 2011, c. 69, §1, is further amended to read:

1. Taste testing on off-premise retail licensee's premises.   Subject to the conditions in subsection 2, the bureau may authorize an off-premise retail licensee stocking at least 125 different wine labels to conduct taste testings of wine on that licensee's premises except that until July 1, 2015 the bureau may authorize an off-premise retail licensee stocking at least 45 different wine labels to conduct taste testings of wine on that licensee's premises as long as gasoline or diesel fuel is not sold at the same establishment where the taste testings will take place. Any other consumption of alcoholic beverages on an off-premise retail licensee's premises is prohibited.’

SUMMARY

This amendment is the minority report of the committee and provides that, until July 1, 2015, the number of wine labels required to be stocked by an off-premise retail licensee to be able to conduct a taste testing is reduced from 125 to 45 but only if the licensee does not also sell gasoline or diesel fuel at the same establishment.
