An Act Related to Appeals of Disciplinary Proceedings Affecting County Employees
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §501, sub-§3, ¶C is enacted to read:
C. In every case of dismissal, suspension or disciplinary action, a county employee, county officer or department head may appeal a decision of the county commissioners or personnel board to the Maine Labor Relations Board. The Maine Labor Relations Board may order the employee's reinstatement to the employee's former position with no loss of pay, rights or benefits resulting from the dismissal, suspension or disciplinary action.
SUMMARY
This bill provides that, in every case of dismissal, suspension or disciplinary action, a county employee, county officer or department head may appeal a decision of the county commissioners or personnel board to the Maine Labor Relations Board.
