An Act To Encourage the Use of Career Interest and Aptitude Tests in Higher Education

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §10013  is enacted to read:

§ 10013 Career interest test; course registrations

The Maine Community College System and the University of Maine System shall allow a student to receive priority in course registration if the student takes and submits prior to registration, in accordance with procedures approved by the respective system, a career interest test. For purposes of this section, "career interest test" includes any test approved by the respective system the results of which indicate a person's career interests or aptitudes.

This bill requires the Maine Community College System and the University of Maine System to allow a student to receive priority in course registration if the student takes and submits prior to course registration, in accordance with procedures approved by the respective system, a career interest test.
