Resolve, To Establish MaineCare Eligibility for Young Adults Who Were Formerly in Foster Care

Sec. 1. Young adult waiver. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services shall submit to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services an application for a waiver under the Medicaid program to allow MaineCare to cover young adults who were formerly in foster care. The waiver must provide coverage for a young adult 19 to 25 years of age who was on the date of the young adult's 19th birthday in the custody of the State pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 22, chapter 1071. The waiver must provide coverage for the young adult until the date of the young adult's 26th birthday.
