Amend the bill in section 2 in §2175 in subsection 5 in paragraph A in subparagraph (3) in the 2nd line (page 2, line 13 in L.D.) by inserting after the following: " designee" the following: ' , appointed by the Governor'

Amend the bill in section 2 in §2175 in subsection 5 in paragraph A in subparagraph (6) in the 2nd line (page 2, line 19 in L.D.) by inserting after the following: " designee" the following: ' , appointed by the Governor'

Amend the bill in section 2 in §2175 in subsection 5 in paragraph A by striking out all of subparagraph (9) (page 2, lines 24 and 25 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

(9) One representative of the wild mushroom foragers community, appointed by the Governor;

(10) One representative of the wild mushroom brokers community, appointed by the Governor;

Amend the bill in section 2 in §2175 in subsection 5 in paragraph A by renumbering the subparagraphs to read consecutively.

Amend the bill in section 2 in §2175 in subsection 7 in the first line (page 3, line 37 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " $200" and inserting the following: ' $20, may be imposed no more than once every 5 years'

Amend the bill by adding after section 2 the following:

Sec. 3. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.

Initiative: Provides a base allocation in the event that fee revenue and other revenues are received from public and private sources.

summary

This amendment amends the bill by requiring the Governor to appoint one representative of wild mushroom foragers and one representative of wild mushroom brokers to the Maine Wild Mushroom Harvesting Advisory Committee. The bill requires the Governor to appoint 2 representatives of the wild mushroom foragers and brokers community. The amendment also clarifies that certain members of the committee are appointed by the Governor. The amendment reduces the fee to a maximum of $20 and allows it to be imposed no more than once every 5 years. The amendment also adds an appropriations and allocations section.
