Resolve, To Promote Prevention Practices in Oral Health Care

Sec. 1. Oral health promotion program. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services shall develop and maintain a program to promote oral health and dental disease prevention activities, referred to in this section as "the program." The responsibilities of the program include, but are not limited to: planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating dental and oral public health programs; aggregating, evaluating and publishing data relevant to oral health status and resources in the State; and coordinating other dental public health programs that benefit the public. Entities that regulate or gather data from oral health providers in this State, including, but not limited to, the Department of Health and Human Services' office of rural health and primary care, the Board of Dental Examiners and the Maine Health Data Organization shall report oral health information to the program.
