An Act To Impose a Mandatory Minimum Award in Small Claims Actions
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 14 MRSA §7484-B is enacted to read:
§ 7484-B. Minimum award
In any proceeding under this chapter in which the plaintiff prevails, the court shall order the defendant to pay not less than $25 as a small claims award. The court may not suspend or waive the award.
