An Act To Allow a Municipality To Withdraw from a Regional School Unit
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §1466, sub-§21 is enacted to read:
21. Exemption. Notwithstanding other provisions of this section, a municipality that withdraws from a regional school unit under this section is exempt from penalties and reorganization requirements if the reason for withdrawal is that the municipality's educational goals and financial capabilities are not compatible with those of the regional school unit.
