An Act To Streamline Ratemaking for Consumer-owned Water Utilities

This bill is a concept draft pursuant to Joint Rule 208.

The purpose of this bill is to give a consumer-owned water utility the authority to decrease its rates or to increase its rates between 3% and 5% without the changes being subject to investigation and suspension by the Public Utilities Commission before the changes go into effect. However, the increase or decrease in rates may not be more than a total of 10% during a 5-year period.
