An Act To Enhance Municipal Home Rule Statutes
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §3009-B is enacted to read:
§ 3009-B. Denying constitutional protections to corporations
A municipality may adopt and enforce an ordinance that denies a corporation constitutional rights, privileges, powers or protections that enable the corporation to avoid the enforcement of an ordinance or to challenge or nullify an ordinance.

This bill allows a municipality to adopt an ordinance that denies corporations constitutional rights. It would allow a municipality to adopt an ordinance that states that a corporation may not be recognized as a person.
