An Act To Amend Notification Procedures of the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §685-C, sub-§1-A is enacted to read:
1-A. Revision to plan; notification requirements. Prior to initiating the process of updating or revising the comprehensive land use plan adopted pursuant to subsection 1, the commission shall notify each individual property owner within the commission’s jurisdiction:
A. That the commission is initiating the process of updating the comprehensive land use plan; and
B. Of the availability of information regarding the comprehensive land use plan, the proposed revisions to the comprehensive land use plan and the process for input and comment by the public and the means of accessing that information.

This bill requires that, prior to initiating the process of updating or revising the comprehensive land use plan, the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission notify each individual property owner within the commission’s jurisdiction that the commission is initiating the process of updating the plan and how to access information regarding the plan the proposed revisions to the plan and the process for public input and comment.
