Amend the bill in section 1 by striking out all of subsection 19-A (page 1, lines 3 to 5 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

19-A Minibar.   "Minibar" means a self-contained, locking cabinet, refrigerated or unrefrigerated, designed for the storage, dispensation and sale of alcoholic beverages and related merchandise.

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 by striking out the first paragraph (page 1, lines 7 to 10 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

6 Minibar license.   The bureau may issue a license for the placement of a minibar to an operator of a hotel licensed under section 1061 or in accordance with the license required by Title 30-A, section 3811 subject to the following conditions and applicable rules established by the bureau:

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 in paragraph B in the 2nd line (page 1, line 15 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " $100" and inserting the following: ' $200'

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 by striking out all of paragraph H (page 1, lines 28 to 30 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

H A hotel room equipped with a minibar may be rented only to a person who is 21 years of age or older and who has demonstrated proof of age by presenting proper identification as described in section 2087 unless the minibar is secured in a manner that prevents access by a person under 21 years of age;

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 in paragraph I in the last line (page 1, line 33 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " room." and inserting the following: ' room; and'

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 6 by inserting after paragraph I the following:

J A minibar may be stocked and serviced only by an employee who is 21 years of age or older.

Amend the bill by inserting after section 2 the following:

Sec. 3. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.

This amendment clarifies the definition of "minibar" and increases the license fee for a minibar from $100 as proposed in the bill to $200. The amendment also specifies that a person who rents a room that contains a minibar must present proper identification to show proof of age and that a minibar may only be stocked by an employee who is 21 years of age or older. This amendment also adds an appropriations and allocations section to the bill.
