An Act To Prohibit Telephone Line-item Charges Not Representing Services Requested by the Customer or Required by Law
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 35-A MRSA §7309 is enacted to read:
§ 7309. Unlawful telephone line-item charges
A telephone utility may not include any line-item charge in a bill to a customer except a line-item charge that represents an actual service requested by the customer or a line-item charge that is specifically authorized by federal or state law.
