| This legislation will require a General Fund appropriation to the Department of Corrections of $127,542 in fiscal year 2008-09 to provide funds for one Correctional Health Planner and general operating expenses to assist with the increased contract management activities, including; coordination of service among vendors and state facilities, program development, fiscal monitoring, risk management and quality assurance activities. It is anticipated that any cost savings would be phased in over time as existing contracts with vendors expire and new compliant vendors would come on board. No estimate of the future savings can be made at this time. | ||||||
