The bill's provisions eliminating the certificate of need could result in increased costs to the MaineCare program. Eliminating the certificate of need may also result in savings in Department of Health and Human Services administrative costs.
Includes a deallocation of funds and eliminates one half-time Insurance Actuarial Assistant position and related costs effective September 1, 2007,  no longer necessary as a result of repealing the certificate of need provisions.  Provides an allocation of funds on a one-time basis for the costs of contracting with another entity to prepare a grant application.
