Amend the amendment by inserting after Part MMMM the following:

Sec. NNNN-1. 22 MRSA §3273, sub-§9, ¶C is enacted to read:
C. Beginning October 1, 2013 and notwithstanding any provision of this section to the contrary, the department may not provide supplemental security income to a legal immigrant who is not eligible to receive and is not actually receiving benefits under this subsection on September 30, 2013.’
Amend the amendment by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment terminates, beginning October 1, 2013, the provision of state supplemental security income to legal immigrants. A legal immigrant who is enrolled in the program and receiving supplemental security income as of September 30, 2013 continues to be eligible to receive benefits.
