An Act To Apply Municipal Nepotism Policies to Municipal School Units
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §1002, sub-§5 is enacted to read:
5. Employment of family members by municipal school units. A municipal ordinance, charter, code or personnel policy that governs nepotism relating to the employment of a family member of a municipal officer applies to school board members of a municipal school unit.

This bill requires that municipalities with an ordinance, charter, code or personnel policy that governs nepotism relating to employment of a family member of a municipal officer use that policy for school board members of a municipal school unit.
