An Act To Simplify Notification Procedures for Water Quality Changes
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §6172, sub-§6 is enacted to read:
6. Notification. When the commissioner determines that the water quality has changed to a level that affects the status of an area or waters under this section, the commissioner shall promptly notify interested parties. Notification under this subsection must include use of an online notification system, including notifying interested parties through electronic mail and posting a notice on the department's publicly accessible website.
