An Act To Encourage the Reuse of Plastic Containers
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §1874 is enacted to read:
§ 1874. Refillable containers
Notwithstanding the provisions of section 1862, subsection 12-A, a beverage container with the capacity of 2 liters or less made of polyethylene terephthalate must be a standardized bottle that can be refilled at least 9 times.
