The projected costs to fund the per diem and expenses of two members of the City of Hallowell's legislative delegation who will be participants on the Task Force To Examine Using Stevens School in Hallowell for Veterans' Housing are $840 in fiscal year 2006-07.  The Legislature's budget includes $20,000 in fiscal year 2006-07 for legislative studies.  Whether the amount is sufficient to fund all studies will depend on the number of studies authorized by the Legislative Council and the Legislature.

The exact financial impact of this legislation including any increase in revenue from any proposed leases, conveyances or negotiated sales agreements can not be determined at this time.  Included in this legislation is a requirement for the appraised value of the state property to be determined by an independent appraiser.  The additional costs associated with providing staff assistance to the Task Force To Examine Using Stevens School in Hallowell for Veterans' Housing can be absorbed by the Department of Administrative and Financial Services utilizing existing budgeted resources.
