The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

The
authorization of certain organizations to conduct tournament games will
require additional General Fund appropriations of $222,197 and $256,830 in
fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively, to the Department of Public Safety for the cost
of regulating the newly authorized gaming. |

|
|
|
Beginning
in fiscal year 2005-06, the establishment of tournament game license fees
will generate an annual estimated increase of $600,000 in General Fund
revenue. |
