Fiscal Detail and Notes
	This bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $250,000 per year, beginning in fiscal year 2005-06, to establish the Maine Mentoring Partnership Grant program within the Department of Education.  This legislation requires that at least 75% of annual appropriations, or $187,500 per year, be distributed as direct grants to eligible mentoring programs.  This legislation also specifies that up to 20% of appropriated funds, or $50,000 per year, may be used for technical assistance provided by the Maine Mentoring Partnership and that no more than 5% per year, or $12,500, may be used for administrative costs.  The Department of Education and the Maine Mentoring Partnership will be able to implement and administer the program within the funding parameters established in this legislation.
