The Secretary of State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation of $8,000 or more may be required. 
Fiscal Detail and Notes
If approved by the voters, reducing the size of the Legislature by 2 senators and 52 representatives will result in costs savings to the legislative budget in the amount of ($2,039,005) in fiscal year 2006-07, ($1,807,991) in fiscal year 2007-08 and ($2,267,907) in fiscal year 2008-09.  The Legislature will require a General Fund appropriation of $400,000 in fiscal year 2005-06 to conduct the required redistricting.
