Removing the restriction on the number of liquor licenses that can be issued will increase General Fund revenue collected by the Department of Public Safety from application fees and licenses by an estimated $4,016,000 in fiscal year 2005-06 and by an estimated $600,000 in fiscal year 2006-07 and for each year thereafter.  In addition, the department will require additional General Fund appropriations in the amounts of $119,902 and $155,917 in fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively, for additional inspection and regulatory costs.
