Fiscal Detail and Notes
The After-school Program within the Department of Education will require General Fund appropriations totaling $4,236,101 and $4,552,553 in fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively for the implementation and administration of the program.   
This bill includes General Fund appropriations of $4,042,836 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $4,257,653 in fiscal year 2006-07 for the after-school programs.   Additional General Fund appropriations of $107,802 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $172,300 in fiscal year 2006-07 will be required for the after-school program due to higher than anticipated appropriations for the General Purpose Aid for Local Schools program being proposed in the Governor's Current Services Budget for the 2006-2007 biennium as well as additional funding for GPA included in Public Law 2005, Chapter 2, An Act to Increase the State Share of Education Costs, Reduce Property Taxes and Reduce Government Spending at All Levels.
The Department of Education will also require additional General Fund appropriations of $85,463 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $122,600 for one Clerk-Typist III position and one Education Specialist III position to administer the program.
