SUMMARY

Currently, the law differentiates between entry of an unlocked
motor vehicle with the intent to commit a crime therein, a Class
D crime, and forcible entry of a motor vehicle with the intent to
commit a crime therein, a Class C crime.

This bill removes that distinction and provides that unlawful
entry of a motor vehicle is a Class D crime, regardless of the
manner of entry.
