| Sec. 1. Establish procedure; coordinate delivery of services. Resolved: That the |
| Department of Health and Human Services shall establish a |
| procedure for the timely assessment of an older individual's need |
| for mental health services and a system to coordinate delivery of |
| appropriate services regardless of the setting in which the older |
| individual resides. The department shall ensure that the |
| procedure for assessment contains appropriate screening, |
| assessment and care-planning criteria and that the mental health |
| services to older adults will be efficiently and effectively |
| delivered in a manner that preserves residence in the community |
| and delays or avoids higher-cost services. |
