This bill will require a General Fund appropriations to the Judicial Department in the amount of $16,592 in fiscal year 2004-05, $16,965 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $17,389 in fiscal year 2006-07.  These appropriations will provide funds for additional judge time as well as related court security and clerical support resulting from the requirement that the court review the detention of a juvenile who has been held longer that 10 days.  This bill will also require a General Fund appropriation to the Legislature in the amount of $840 annually, beginning in fiscal year 2004-05.  This appropriation provides funds for the per diem and expenses for legislative members of the State Council for Juvenile and Adult Offender Supervision.  All costs associated with the technical changes impacting the Department of Corrections can be absorbed by the department utilizing existing budgeted resources.
