Prohibiting the presence, use and storage of cancer-causing chemicals on school property will require schools to search out, eliminate and forbid such items.  The cost to local school units can not be determined at this time. School Significant
Fiscal Detail and Notes
The cost of rule-making can be absorbed by the Department of Education and the Department of Human Services (DHS).  DHS will incur additional costs estimated to be approximately $50,000 for consultation on development of a list of cancer-causing chemicals, training licensing staff to inspect child care facilities, additional inspection time at each facility and lab tests to determine if chemicals have been used inside a child care facility.
