An Act To Clarify that the Unauthorized Sale of Public

Records Is a Crime

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §95-A, sub-§5 is enacted to read:

5.__Sale or transfer of record prohibited.__A person may not sell or transfer a record unless specifically authorized by law.__A person who violates this subsection commits a Class D crime.
