 |  | |  | Sec. 2.  Commission membership.  Resolved:  That the commission consists |  | of the following 12 members: | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 1.  Three members of the Senate, appointed by the President of |  | the Senate; | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 2.  Three members from the House of Representatives, appointed |  | by the Speaker of the House; | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 3.  Three members of the public who are landlords, jointly |  | appointed by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the |  | House; and | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 4.  Three members of the public who are tenants, jointly |  | appointed by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the |  | House; and be it further | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | Sec. 3.  Chairs.  Resolved:  That the first named Senate member is the |  | Senate chair of the commission and the first named House of |  | Representatives member is the House chair of the commission; and |  | be it further | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | Sec. 4.  Appointments; meetings.  Resolved:  That all appointments must be |  | made no later than 30 days following passage of this resolve. |  | The Executive Director of the Legislative Council must be |  | notified by all appointing authorities once the selections have |  | been made.  When the appointment of all members has been |  | completed, the chairs of the commission shall call and convene |  | the first meeting of the commission no later that 10 days after |  | all members have been appointed; and be it further |

 |  | |  | Sec. 5.  Duties.  Resolved:  That the commission shall study the |  | State's landlord-tenant laws and develop recommendations to |  | update or improve the laws.  In examining these laws, the |  | commission may: | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 1.  Hold informational sessions for discussions with |  | knowledgeable persons; | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 2.  Conduct, summarize and analyze the results of a literature |  | search; | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 3.  Conduct, tabulate and analyze the results of a survey of |  | the public or affected persons and groups; | 
 | 
 
 
 |  | |  | 4.  Procure and analyze relevant data; | 
 |
