Sec. 1. Medicaid reimbursement. Resolved: That the Department of Human
Services shall amend the principles of reimbursement under the
Medicaid program for nursing facilities to enable nonprofit
nursing facilities to receive 1/2 of the profit rate applicable
to for-profit nursing facilities. Rules adopted pursuant to this
section are routine technical rules as defined by the Maine
Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter II-A. Rules
adopted pursuant to this section must be implemented by January
1, 2002.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve requires the Department of Human Services to
amend the principles of reimbursement under the Medicaid program
for nursing facilities to enable nonprofit nursing facilities to
receive 1/2 of the profit rate applicable to for-profit nursing
facilities. The rules, which are routine technical rules, must
be implemented by January 1, 2002.
