Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

 
Sec. 1. Appropriation. The following funds are appropriated from
the General Fund to carry out the purposes of this Act.

Provides funds to establish a grant program to
bring technology into schools. The department
is authorized to adopt routine technical rules
in accordance with the Maine Revised Statutes,
Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter II-A to
implement the grant program. The rules must
include a preference for awarding grants to
schools with innovative plans.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill provides a General Fund appropriation to the
Department of Education of $100,000 to develop a grant program
for schools with innovative plans to bring technology into the
school.
