Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §8301-A, sub-§1, ¶B, as enacted by PL 1997, c. 494, §8 and affected by §15, is amended to read:

B. "Home day care provider" means a person who provides day care in that person's home on a regular basis, for consideration, for 3 to 12 children under 13 years of age who are not the children of the provider or for 3 to 17 children under 13 years of age who are not the children of the provider if at least 5 of the children are only__present in the person's home between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on school days.

SUMMARY

This bill increases the number of children to whom a home day care provider may provide day care services from 12 to 17 if at least 5 of the children are only present in the home from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on school days.
