§259.__Eating Disorders Advisory Board

 
There is established the Eating Disorders Advisory Board,
referred to in this section as the "board," to advise the
department on the work of the Office of Eating Disorders.

 
1.__Membership.__The board consists of:

 
A.__One representative of the department, one representative
of the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and
Substance Abuse Services and one representative of the
Department of Education, each of whom is appointed by the
commissioner of that person's department and all of whom
serve ex officio and without the authority to vote; and

 
B.__The following persons appointed by the commissioner:

 
(1)__Two members of the general public.__Of the initial
appointees, one must be appointed for a 3-year term and
one for a 2-year term.__All subsequent terms are 3-year
terms;

 
(2)__Two advocates for persons with eating disorders.__
Of the initial appointees one must be appointed for a
2-year term and one for a 1-year term.__All subsequent
terms are 3-year terms;

 
(3)__A mental health provider, appointed for a 3-year
term;

 
(4)__A physical health provider.__The initial appointee
serves a 1-year term.__All subsequent terms are 3-year
terms;

 
(5)__A health educator.__The initial appointee serves a
2-year term.__All subsequent terms are 3-year terms;
and

 
(6)__Two family members of persons with eating
disorders.__Of the initial appointees, one serves a 3-
year term and one serves a 1-year term.__All subsequent
terms are 3-year terms.

 
2.__Volunteer service.__All board members serve on a voluntary
basis without reimbursement for expenses.

 
3.__Chair; meetings.__The board shall elect a chair from among
its members.__The board shall meet 10 times per year.
