State that are included in the provisions of the plan. On or
before January 31, 2001, the Director of the State Planning Office
shall report to the joint standing committee of the Legislature
having jurisdiction over natural resources matters on the progress
in implementing the plan and any other recommendations that the
contracted nonprofit organization, watershed coordinators or the
State Planning Office may have concerning the management of the
watersheds of rivers in the State that are included in the
provisions of the plan.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill requires the State Planning Office to develop
funding for and fully implement an Atlantic salmon conservation
plan; develop model watershed plans; and complete habitat
enhancement, fish passage and pollution prevention projects.
This bill also requires the State Planning Office to report to
the Legislature on the progress of implementing an Atlantic
salmon conservation plan and any other recommendations concerning
watershed management by January 31, 2001.
