Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
CONCEPT DRAFT
SUMMARY
This bill is a concept draft pursuant to Joint Rule 208.
This concept draft proposes to reduce volatility in the
State's revenue system by lowering reliance on the sales and use
tax by reducing the rate of the sales and use tax and modernizing
the tax base by reviewing sales tax exemptions and exclusions and
other sections of the tax code.
